Fe 415 and Fe 500 Meaning

What does Fe415 signify?

Fe stands for Ferrous material, which is iron from which the strengthening steel bars are manufactured. The number 415 points to that the Yield Strength (tensile strength while it is subjected to elongation) of steel is 415 N per mm2.

TMT Fe 415 & Fe 500

What is the meaning of fe500?

In the Fe 500 and Fe 500D the term “Fe” represents Iron,”500” stands for the lowest yield stress in N/mm2 plus the letter “D” denotes that these bars have elevated values of ductility (upper UTS/YS & % Elongation). These bars have minor percentages of Sulphur in addition to phosphorus which are detrimental to steels used in construction.

What are TMT grades?

There are nine grades in TMT Bar. On the other hand, commonly employed grades are - Fe - 415, Fe- 500 and Fe- 550 plus their D grade also. In fact, Fe- 550 is the strongest among the 3. Kamdhenu has the recognition of manufacturing Fe - 550 grade Bar initial time in India.

How do you know in case steel is TMT bar?

Merely pick up a bar and verify whether the manufacturer's seal is at hand on every meter of it. The bars are supposed to not look rusty, evidently. Also, make sure whether the ends of each bundle of TMT rods are of identical length.
